Must do’s at Disneyland. What must you do? There are so many fun things to do at the Disneyland Resort. I am always hesitant to write a blog post on this subject. Everyone has different tastes, likes, and dislikes. Some have children with them, others it is just adults. The list could vary in so many ways. Even so, I will share with you a list of my favorite must do’s at the Disneyland Resort to get you started!

Must Do’s at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland has so many things for you to do, see, and experience! It can be difficult to fit everything into one trip. However, if you are like me, I try to fit it all in! Consequently, it can be exhausting and I still have missed some things to do. Today is a list of must do’s that are on my list of must do’s each trip. Come check it out with me!

Pirates of the Caribbean

We always try to visit Disneyland when Pirates of the Caribbean is open. One of my favorite attractions! I grew up riding this attraction over and over and over again each trip. Riding the boat through the Bayou and caves to see the Pirates and the treasure is always a treat! Definitely, a must-do!

More on Pirates of the Caribbean here.

Haunted Mansion

This Haunted Mansion attraction is next on the must do’s list. It is another attraction I have grown up with. During this attraction, you board a doom buggy and see all the ghostly inhabitants of the mansion. 999 of them. Beware, there is always room for one more.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

A musical show inside of the Tiki Room features over 150 birds, flowers, and tiki drummers that sing. It is a lovely show that has been going strong since 1963. This must-do is a great spot to sit, relax, enjoy air conditioning, and also a Dole Whip. The Dole stand is in the waiting area. You are allowed to bring it in with you. As long as you take the trash with you on the way out.

Dole Whip

Speaking of Dole Whips… A must-do is getting one of these! Or the soft serve version. Unless you are not a pineapple fan, then you will want to skip it. But otherwise, make sure to get one of the Dole treats. You will not be disappointed!

Bengal Barbeque

My number one must do place to eat! Even though it seems I haven’t taken a photo of it for some bizarre reason. (Must be because I am too busy enjoying it!) Bengal Barbeque is in Adventureland. They offer various skewers of meat and some veggie ones too. Also, they have a Jalapeno cheese filled pretzel. This is my favorite! It is so yummy. All the food is delicious here!

Churros

Since I am on the subject of food, churros are next. There is something about the Disneyland churros. There is nothing like them anywhere else that I have found. I have tried… I wish I knew the secret to making these. Well, maybe it is best I don’t know.

Popcorn

You are probably thinking, it is just popcorn. It is popcorn, but there is something about getting Disneyland popcorn. It is so good! Likewise, it is nice to enjoy it on a park bench on Main Street with the music going. Good times!

Peter Pans Flight

One of the best Fantasyland dark rides in Disneyland is Peter Pans Flight. Try to fly in one of the ships early in the day before the line gets too long. It is an extremely popular attraction.

It’s a Small World

This classic attraction has been a popular one ever since it opened in 1966. Here you board a slow boat and sail around the world with children from seven continents singing together. To show life through the eyes of a child. Showing unity.

If you would like to know more about It’s a Small World, here is a post I did on 10 Secrets of It’s a Small World that may interest you.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Day AND Night

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a mine train roller coaster ride. It is very exciting during the day, however, it is even more thrilling at night! It travels at speeds of 35 mph at times. After dark, this attraction feels like it goes way faster! Be sure to check out both times of the day and check it out for yourself.

Find out more about Big Thunder Mountain Railroad here.

Space Mountain

Space Mountain is a roller coaster in the dark. Sometimes it is just a space theme, other times it could be Ghost Galaxy during Haloween time or Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Mountain! This attraction is a must-do attraction.

Star Tours

This attraction in Tomorrowland is a motion simulator ride. The theme for this attraction is based on the Star Wars movies. Each trip can be a slightly different experience. Even though it is a must-do attraction, it is a don’t do if you have motion sickness…

Looking for some Disney items for your home? Check out these options in the link below!

Late Night Menu at Galactic Grill

In Tomorrowland, there is a restaurant called Galactic Grill. When it is 9 pm at night, it gets a whole new menu! The food options at night are so delicious and ones that should not be missed! I talk about the different items here.

Fantasmic

Of all the nighttime shows at the Disneyland Resort, this one is my absolute favorite! If you have a choice between this show or World of Color (if you really don’t have time to do both), then I highly recommend you make it to this one. Mickey’s nighttime spectacular is pretty spectacular!

Meet Mickey

You have to meet the head cheese! If you can. He usually hangs out on Main Street if he is not at his movie barn in Toontown.

Cars Racers

Over in California Adventure, in Cars Land, is this awesome attraction! Cars Racers is part dark ride and part outside racing. It is a very well done and exciting attraction that you will not want to miss! It is still extremely popular as well. You will want to get a Fast Pass or hit it first thing in the morning. Also, be aware, in case there is some rain during your trip, it tends to have issues running. But check back, it will be back up soon!

Little Mermaid-Ariels Undersea Adventure

Also over in California Adventure is Little Mermaid-Ariels Undersea Adventure. This is a dark ride that tells Ariel’s story. It is well done! A little short, but, well done nonetheless. Even if the line looks a little long, it moves very quickly as it is a high capacity attraction. Even if you don’t have little ones with you, it is a great must-do attraction.

Mickey Shaped… Everything!

Ok, you can’t get everything on one trip. There are so, so many options here! My top couple picks would be a Mickey-shaped ice cream that you can get at one of the carts all over the park. Next would be a Mickey-shaped Macaron at Jolly Holiday Bakery. Finally is a Mickey-shaped candy apple that I would recommend taking back to your room or home at the end of your stay to cut and eat. It is so yummy!

Some of the locations in Disneyland are the Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen on Main Street USA and Pooh Corner in Critter Country. Over in California Adventure, there is Trolley Treats and for Downtown Disney, there is Marceline’s Confectionary

Find out more about the candy apples here.

Disneyland Railroad

Trains! Disneyland has multiple train attractions throughout the park. However, the Disneyland Railroad is my favorite. It almost circles the entire park. With multiple train stations, you can get on and off the train at various points inside the park. Main Street USA, New Orleans Square, Mickey’s Toontown, and Tomorrowland.

If you would like to know more about Disneyland Railroad, check out my post here. I talk about the love Walt Disney had for trains and some pretty fascinating facts about Disneyland Railroad.

In Conclusion

Of all the things to do at Disneyland Resort, I hope this top 20 list helps to get you started on your visit to the park. What is your must do’s?
