Do you know what you must see at the Disneyland Hotel? The Disneyland Hotel is my favorite place to stay when I visit the Disneyland Resort. It is truly a magical place to stay! Therefore, today I thought I would share some photos and talk about what is at the Disneyland Hotel as well as how it is themed.

Must-See at The Disneyland Hotel

First of all, I previously posted a couple of articles that talked a little about the Disneyland Hotel, however, neither article shared a more in-depth discussion of what is specifically there. One was Disneyland Resort Hotels. What’s the difference? Which talked about the differences between the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. The other article was To Disney Hotel or To Good Neighbor Hotel. This one gives reasons as to why you should look into staying at a Disney Hotel.

First, a must-see at the Disneyland Hotel is the themes.

The Disneyland Hotel has three towers and each tower has a different theme. The main tower is called Fantasy Tower. Next is the Adventure Tower. And Finally, the last one is Frontier Tower.

The themes in each tower are amazing! From the carpeting to the photos on the wall. It is fun to explore all of the lobbies of each tower. Even if your room is in a different tower, make sure you check out the other towers. It is a must-see at the Disneyland Hotel!

Fantasy Tower

Fantasy Tower is the main tower of the Disneyland Resort. It is themed after… that’s right! Fantasyland in Disneyland!

I love the decor in this tower. First is the teacup seating that is across from the front desk. They are shaped like the Mad Tea Party spinning cups but cut in half so you can go and sit in them.

Next, the carpet looks like the facade of It’s a Small World. Using different shapes, like triangles and rectangles, all put together makes you think of It’s a Small World.

Another thing you must see at the Disneyland Hotel are the paintings, pictures, and posters that are on the walls. Just like the carpeting, there is a lot of wall art using the same design to make the pictures on the walls. Next, Disney has posters on the walls as well as the paintings.  The posters are of attractions that are inside Disneyland. Just like the ones that are under the tunnels as you enter Disneyland. These posters show you what is to come and helps build up excitement!

Disney Store

Adventure Tower

Next is the Adventure Tower. This one is based on Adventureland. Inside the lobby of this tower, Disney has artwork that is of the Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room. In addition to having a huge mural of the entrance to Adventureland on the wall when you first walk into this tower.

Another thing you must see at the Disneyland Hotel Adventure Tower is the miniature clay models of some of the animals that are in the Jungle Cruise attraction at Disneyland.

Frontier Tower

Finally, is the Frontier Tower. Have you noticed a pattern on the themes yet???

Therefore, the Frontier Tower is based on Frontierland! I know you caught that. 😉

In the lobby of the Frontier Tower, Disney has artwork of Fort Wilderness on Tom Sawyer Island. In addition to the posters showcasing some Frontierland attractions.

The coolest thing you must see at the Disneyland Hotel Frontier Tower is the model of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! I love looking at this model every time I visit Disneyland. Not only does it have the mountains of the attraction and the train on the tracks, but it also has people on the train as well as people walking on through the pathways around the attraction. It is fun to check out the path that the train takes when you ride it.

Second, must-see at the Disneyland Hotel is the hidden Mickey’s.

Hidden Mickey’s are all over the Disneyland Resort! (Here is a post I did on Hidden Mickey’s.) These little gems, or Easter eggs as some call them, are a fun way to pass time on the rides or a fun game to compete with family members to see who can spot the most during your vacation. Some hidden Mickey’s are obvious, while others are really difficult to find!

Make sure to check the floors at the hotel.

Don’t forget to check up high.

Tip: Always look up when you are at the Disneyland Hotel. You never know what may be lurking up above. Not just at the hotel, but while in line and inside of the shops around the Disneyland Resort. Hidden Mickey’s are a definite must-see at the Disneyland Hotel.

If you would like some help in finding hidden Mickey’s at the Disneyland Resort, there is a great book that you can purchase. (Find it here.)

Third, must-see at the Disneyland Hotel is the water feature.

The Disneyland Hotel used to have a huge waterfall in front of the Frontier Tower that you were able to walk down below and under. While I still miss that waterfall, however, Disney put in a different water feature in front of the Frontier Tower. Just to the left of the entrance is a multi-level waterfall. It is a pretty waterfall. Don’t forget to see it at night too!

When you come to see this water feature. Stay awhile and enjoy the view. Every so often there is a geyser that will blow off steam. It is a nod to the old attraction Mine Train through Nature’s Wonderland that was in Frontierland from 1956-1977.

Fourth, must-see at the Disneyland Hotel is the Restaurants.

Food! You can’t leave out food when you are on a Disneyland vacation. Disney has so many delicious options to choose from!

Coffee House

First up is Coffee House. This is a great stop to get coffee, pastries, salads, sandwiches and Dole Whip treats! Dole Whip outside of Disneyland is awesome! This way you do not have to wait in the huge line that forms most of the time inside of Adventurland.

Tangaroa Terrace

Tropical themed Tangaroa Terrace serves American cuisine. Various salads, burgers, hot dog and a chicken teriyaki bowl to name a few. They are also open for breakfast. With photos of the Tiki Room and Walt Disney on the walls, this is a must-see at the Disneyland Hotel.

Note: Tangaroa Terrace will be closing on Sept 4, 2018, until early 2019. However, Trader Sams and the Coffee House will be offering some of the Tangaroa Terrace meals during the closure.

Trader Sams Enchanted Tiki Bar

Trader Sams is a definite must-see at the Disneyland Hotel. If you have the opportunity to eat inside, do it! The inside is decorated like the Tiki room/Jungle Cruise with a tropical island feel. Complete with an erupting volcano! Some of the drinks on the menu will activate certain feature’s around the room. For example, the volcano will erupt, the ship in the bottle will go through a bad storm and sink. It is a fun experience to eat and drink inside of Trader Sams Enchanted Tiki Bar. The food is tasty too!

Tip: Don’t worry if you have kids in tow! Children are welcome inside until 8 pm. After that, it is 21 and older only.

Goofy’s Kitchen

Next is Goofy’s Kitchen. This is a family favorite. All-you-can-eat buffet with Disney characters coming to your table to say hello. Goofy’s Kitchen is a must-see at the Disneyland Hotel. Whether you go for breakfast or dinner, you will need to make reservations. It is a very popular spot to eat, and you will see why when you arrive.

Steakhouse 55

Finally is Steakhouse 55. Named after the year of Disneyland’s opening, Steakhouse 55 is the place to get steaks, chops, or seafood. Decorated in old Hollywood style, dimly lit dining with attentive service is what Steakhouse 55 is all about. Whether you come for breakfast, afternoon tea, or dinner, reservations are highly recommended.

Be sure to check out why Steakhouse 55 is a must-see at the Disneyland Hotel during your next visit.

Shop Disney has some fun items for your doggies too!

The fifth must-see at the Disneyland Hotel is the Model in the Frontier Tower

Finally, the last must-see at the Disneyland Hotel is the model of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Inside the lobby of the Frontier Tower is a 1/4th scale model of the ride that is inside of Disneyland. This is a fun thing to look at. Seeing all the people and the animals from the ride. This is a definite must-see at the Disneyland Hotel that you won’t want to miss!
