With Pixar Fest in full swing at the Disneyland Resort right now, I thought that I would give a list of Pixar attractions at the Disneyland Resort that are based on Pixar movies.

Disneyland

First of all, let’s start with the original park, Disneyland! In Tomorrowland, there are two attractions that are Pixar related.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

First, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is a dark ride that takes you on a mission to find Evil Emperor Zerg. With this attraction, you board your space vehicle, grab your laser gun,  and help Buzz Lightyear to defeat Evil Emperor Zerg. Before you reach Zerg, there are aliens with targets all through the attraction. By shooting the targets you get points. In front of you is your score. You can compete with your family or friend that is in the vehicle with you.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

Second, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is a submarine ride that takes you under the water to hear and see Nemo’s story come to life! This classic submarine attraction was brought back to life with this fishy tale in 2007. This attraction is very cool to experience. However, if you have any claustrophobia at all, you may want to sit this one out.

Tip: Disney offers an alternate way to experience this attraction on dry land if you have any mobility issues (stairs are involved) or if you have claustrophobia. Therefore, ask the Cast Member at the entrance of this attraction how to view the alternate experience.

California Adventure

Next, we hop over to the other Disney park in California. California Adventure. This park has multiple Pixar Attractions in operation right now. Which includes an entire land dedicated to one of the movies!

Monster’s Inc.

First of all, another dark ride at the Disneyland Resort is Monster’s Inc. During this attraction, you ride through the story of Monster’s Inc. and see the adventures of Mike, Sulley, and Boo. It is a fun attraction that I think was well done and definitely worth a visit. Either during the Pixar Fest or after.

Toy Story Midway Mania

Next is Toy Story Midway Mania in Paradise Pier (soon to be Pixar Pier). Another dark ride in the park but with a twist. It is like a carnival game. During this ride, you wear 3D glasses and you are armed with a cannon looking “gun” with a pull string. When you first enter the building, they give you a chance to practice before you start competing with a score. There are multiple games you get to play during your ride. For example, breaking plates, shooting targets and popping balloons to name a few.

Warning: if you have any little bit of motion sickness, this attraction can aggravate it. There are times that the ride vehicles spin and twirl as you switch to the next games. (If memory serves, I think you go backward a little bit too.)

Cars Land

In my opinion, Cars Land is one of the BEST themed lands in California Adventure! It is like you just stepped into the movie. If you would like to read more about this land, check out my recent post that is all about Cars Land. You can find it here.

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree

The first attraction in Cars Land is Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. Here you ride miniature tractors that spin you around in a figure-eight pattern as you hear Tow Mater singing some hoedowns.

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters

Second, Luigi’s Rollickin Roadsters takes you out on a dance floor. The 1950’s mini vehicles you ride in are synchronized to dance across the floor. Whether you ride this attraction or watch from the sidelines, it is a fun sight to see! Make sure to check it out at night too with all the lights.

Cars Racers

Finally is Cars Racers. In my opinion, this is one of the best attractions! The theming of this attraction is wonderful. In addition to the thrilling ride itself that is part dark ride and part outdoor racing. You won’t want to miss this attraction. Trust me! The wait is worth it!

Side Notes

Right now there is Bug’s Land. Which is based on the Pixar movie A Bug’s Life. However, this land will be closing very soon! At the end of Summer 2018. If you have a chance to visit before it closes, be sure to check it out! It is another well-themed land. I am sad that it will be leaving.

Another side note is the new Pixar Pier land that will be opening on June 23, 2018. When this land opens there will be a couple of newly themed attractions. Incredicoaster will be an Incredibles themed roller coaster and Mickey’s Fun Wheel will have Pixar character’s on each one of the gondola’s.

In Conclusion

Pixar attractions at the Disneyland Resort are fun to experience! Therefore, I hope that you get a chance to experience them on your next trip.
