Tips: Planning your Magical Disneyland Trip

Browse the Internet.

First, the internet can be a wonderful place to gather information for your magical Disneyland trip. There is an endless supply of bloggers out there who have done it, lived it, and blogged about it! Someone’s experiences (good or bad) can be one of the most valuable lessons for you!

For example, I had no idea what it was like to visit Disneyland with someone that was disabled until I did it with my Dad and then with my Mom on a different trip. It was a whole new experience, (and a lot of it was not good.) However, after our experience, I was able to blog about it to help others. By giving tips and sharing how we were treated and our feelings. In hopes of at least helping others in similar situations to know what to do or just know that they are not alone!

I should have taken my own advice here and researched beforehand! So now after our trip, I can’t express enough to research before you go! It can make a HUGE difference!

Website recommendations.

www.lifeinmouseyears.com

Of course one site I highly recommend is this one!

Ok, all kidding aside, not just my site. But I do have posts giving various tips for your Disneyland vacation. Feel free to browse and see if any of my posts help you out. If there is anything you would like to know but maybe I haven’t written out, feel free to let me know in the comments below. I would love to fill in anything that may be missing in a future post.

www.disneytouristblog.com

Next, Tom and Sarah Bricker at Disney Tourist Blog is a great site that I have followed since they started! They have a vast wealth of information and humor in their posts. If you are wondering about food, holidays, photography, tips or current news about Disney, this is another place to go to get that. They have visited all the Disney Parks and they have reviewed them on their blog. I definitely recommend their site for information.

www.micechat.com

Another site, Micechat,  is another blog that I have been following for years! They give weekly updates with photos about Disneyland, in addition to current news and happenings at the resort. Therefore, whether you are looking for information to plan your trip or if you are just dying to see pictures of Disneyland in anticipation of your next trip, Micechat is a good site to do just that!

www.disneyland.disney.go.com

Finally, the official site to go for the most current information on the Disneyland Resort is Disneyland’s site! On Disneyland’s official site you can find what attractions are there, what the restaurants are, menus, entertainment schedules, ride closures, ticket prices and so much more! This is the number one site I recommend because it is from the source! In addition to it being the most up to date source.

Watch vloggers on YouTube.

YouTube is a great place to find out almost anything! How to’s, information, humor, history, and much more. There is so much information on Youtube about Disneyland that you can get lost in there! At least you will be happy being lost in Disneyland, right? 😉

Here are some of the top vloggers I watch to get you started.

FreshBaked

Fresh Baked on YouTube is one of the top vloggers I watch for information and to see and hear Disneyland! Each week a small group of friends visits the Disneyland Resort. They walk, talk, ride rides, and eat and they film it to share with us every day! It gives you a feel of the park, food and more. One of the biggest things they have taught me is to let Disneyland happen to you. Don’t force it! Take your time and just enjoy it. Be in the moment!

Magic Journeys

Next is Magic Journeys. They are my favorite foodie couple! Mig Vee and Janel visit various restaurants and treat locations around the Disneyland resort and try out all sorts of meals, drinks, and desserts, and share what it is, how it tastes, give recommendations. Mig Vee’s filming and editing style are professional and high quality. Therefore, Magic Journeys is a great vlog to check out for food and drink information for your magical Disneyland trip.

mrcheezypop

Another vlog to check out is mrcheezypop. He is funny and cheesy! Maxwell visits the Disneyland resort and try’s out different foods and treats around the Disneyland Resort. He is funny, upbeat, and informative. His Disneyland videos are definitely informative, helpful and entertaining. As a result, I highly recommend mrcheezypop in planning your magical Disneyland trip.

JustinScarred

JustinScarred is a vlogger I have been following from his start when he was doing Randomland. Now Justin uses his JustinScarred channel on Youtube and has “Randomland Adventures” on there. Justin is one of my favorite vloggers! Not only does he have some crazy and funny adventures in Disneyland, but he also travels to Disney World, Disney Paris, and Route 66! Justin gives tips and lots of history in his vlogs, however, his style makes it fun to watch! Therefore, in addition to FreshBaked, Magic Journeys, and mrcheesypop, I highly recommend Justin Scarred as well!

Side note: All of these vloggers are family-friendly! So if you have some little ones running around, be assured that they can watch with you!

Books

Books are a great way to get information on Disneyland! Even though I already know so much about the Disneyland Resort due to all the times I have visited, however, I like to read and stay current on what is happening at the Disneyland Resort!

Book Recommendations

  • Birnbaum’s Disneyland Resort

The first book I turn to when I am planning a magical Disneyland trip is Birnbaum’s Disneyland Resort for that year. Birnbaum’s releases a new book each year and it has so much helpful information! For example, what the weather is like at certain times of the year, crowd predictions, character information, what to pack, how to get to the resort, and much more! Including coupons!

Click the following link to purchase this book.  Birnbaum’s 2020 Disneyland Resort: The Official Guide (Birnbaum Guides). (2021 version is out of print already. Not sure why, but hopefully it becomes available again soon!)

  • The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland

Another book I like to check out is The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. It is similar to Birnbaum’s but from a different point of view. (Or writing style.) While both books are extremely informative in similar ways, each book has different bits of information that the other one may have missed.

To purchase the book in book form, you can find it here.

Kindle 2020 version here. (I couldn’t find a 2021 Kindle version yet.)

As a former Manager of a video store, she has a wealth of knowledge about movies as well. In addition to these experiences, she also loves to take landscape photography, do crafting, bake cakes for her nieces and nephews. But most of all, she enjoys reading the Bible.
