Costco Travel has vacation packages they offer to Costco Members. This is something that I wish I would have realized before our last trip to Disneyland. They offer perks I would have liked to participate in. In fact, now that I know it, our next trip will be through Costco Travel! Therefore, today I would like to talk about the perks of the Costco Travel Package to help you out. This is for the current offerings for 2018.

Costco Travel Disneyland Package Perks

Disneyland is a fun place to spend your vacation! It can also be very expensive. If you are like my family and me, we only get to visit the resort once every 2 or more years. As a result, during that time we save up so that we can stay at the Disneyland Hotel and eat at special dining locations too.

Therefore, saving money where we can is important. With the Costco Travel Package, it helps you to save a little bit and get some perks at the same time!

Disneyland Resort Hotels Package

Hotel Stay

First of all, the Disneyland Resort Hotels Package includes your hotel stay. (I would certainly hope so right?) It is for one of the three Disney Hotels. Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Spa, or Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.

Note: They require a minimum stay of two nights.

Souvenir Park Ticket

Next, the package includes a Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Souvenir Ticket. The souvenir ticket is a hard plastic ticket rather than just a thick paper ticket. Therefore, the hard plastic tickets hold up during your trip. Especially since you use it for so many things. Fast Passes, Max Passes, Photo Pass, entry to the park every day, and park hopping. Consequently, durable is definitely better.

Extra Magic Hour entry and Magic Morning.

This next perk is where you can get into the parks one hour prior to park opening. Magic Morning is good only one day at Disneyland park. (Requires a 3-day pass). Extra Magic Hour Entry is offered for both parks depending on the day of the week. Disneyland Park is on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. California Adventure Park is Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The Costco Package includes both. Therefore you will be able to use this perk every day (barring any cancelations) should you choose to.

Tip: On these early entry perks, Disney recommends that you be at the gate 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to normal park opening. However, in my opinion,/experience, I recommend even earlier!! The last two trips I have taken I arrived at the 1 hour and 15 minute time and the lines were super long and it took so long to get into the park that we weren’t able to get into any rides. For this reason, the earlier you can get in line the better.

Premium Disney Character Dining Experience

Character dining is so much fun! Well for most people. Some kids can be frightened by the characters. The Premium Disney Character Dining Experience is a meal at a restaurant where Disney Characters come right to your table and interact with you. (One per Person).

The Dining locations you can choose from are Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel (Breakfast or Dinner), Mickey and Friends at Disney’s PCH Grill at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, Minnie and Friends Breakfast at Plaza Inn inside of Disneyland, or Chip and Dale Critter Breakfast at Story Tellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa.

Disney Gift Card

A Disney Gift Card (one per package) with a value of up to $100 is another perk included with this Costco Package. The price varies, depending on how many nights you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel.

Nights       Gift Card

  2-4                $40

   5                   $60

   6                   $80

   7                   $100

Magical Extras Savings Card

Another perk to the Costco Travel package is a Magical Extras Savings card. This card offers discounts at select stores and restaurants in Downtown Disney District. (One card per room, per visit)

Disneyland Resort Park Tour Discount

Next is a 15% discount for the Walk-in Walts Footsteps Guided Tour at Disneyland.

Tip: Reservations are recommended and you can make them 30 days in advance.

Collectables

Finally, the Costco Travel Package includes a couple of Disney Collectable items. (One per person). It is a collectible Disney pin with lanyard and matching luggage tag. How awesome is that!

Tip: If you are an Executive Member, you can now earn a 2% reward on your Costco travel purchases annually.

Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels Package

When you stay long enough to have a 3 day or more park ticket, you can get magic morning entry. This means you can get into Disneyland 1 hour before park opening on one of the days it is offered.

Tip: In the same way as the Disneyland Resort Hotels Package, I recommend arriving at the gates earlier than the 1 hour and 15 minutes that Disneyland recommends.

Premium Disney Character Dining Experience

This Costco Travel perk is the same offerings as the Disneyland Resort Hotels Package.

About Melisa Rice 182 Articles
Melisa has had a love for Disneyland that started at a very young age. Her family traveled to Disneyland every year or two when she was growing up. As she got older, she began to read anything she could get her hands on regarding Disneyland. If you ask her anything about Disneyland, she is always willing to share her knowledge. As a former Manager of a video store, she has a wealth of knowledge about movies as well. In addition to these experiences, she also loves to take landscape photography, do crafting, bake cakes for her nieces and nephews. But most of all, she enjoys reading the Bible.

    • The Costco Travel Package does not include transportation from the airport. I did look at the Disneyland Resort website and found that there is a “Disneyland Resort Express” that you can take to get to the Disneyland Resort. The website also says there is a fee to ride it. But it does not say how much it costs. Here is that website if you would like to find out more about transportation from the airport. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/getting-here/by-plane/
If I can find out the price of the Disneyland Resort Express I will comment here again. 🙂

    • Ok, I believe I found the website that shows the prices. I do not know what a taxi or Uber would be… However, it says that for the Disneyland Resort Express, from Los Angeles Airport, round trip per Adult is $48. $14 per child. One way is $30 for an Adult and $9 for a child. If you fly into the John Wayne Airport, it is $35 per Adult and $11 per child for a round trip. In my opinion, this is an ouch and I would check around at other options to find the cheapest way to get to the Disneyland Resort.
I hope this helps you out!

      • Hi Jacquie! Thank you for your question. There is a shuttle that goes back and forth from the Los Angeles airport and the John Wayne airport to the Disneyland Resort. It is called “Disneyland Resort Express”. There is a fee to take this shuttle. Round trip from LAX is $48 per adult and $14 per child. Round trip from John Wayne airport is $35 per adult and $11 per child. Children 2 and under are free with each paying adult. If you are planning on staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel, many of them offer their own shuttle service to and from the airport. Some are free and others charge. I would recommend contacting the hotel directly and asking for sure. 🙂 I hope that this helps you! IF you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

  1. My understanding is that we now pick up our package at check in (we’re staying at Disneyland hotel). We planning on spending 3 days in the parks starting on the day we check in to the hotel (we live locally so we didn’t want to spend the money on the night before). Do you happen to know if we should still go to the hotel in the morning before check in (since that’s not until 4pm) to get our park hopper tickets (or voucher?) or if we can get them at the ticket booths? I’ve been to DL more times than I can count but am clueless on the hotel and package stuff!

    • Hi Cari! I’m excited for you to be going and staying at the Disneyland Hotel! That is correct. You pick up your package at the Disneyland Hotel. I am not sure if you can get them at the ticket booths. When we got our tickets they were in the package we received at the Disneyland Hotel. I went and did a live chat with Disney to find out for sure for you. They said you do pick them up at the hotel. “The hotel will also hold your luggage. Once you have your tickets and room key (they will give that to you) you can go to Extra Magic Hour. And the hotel will text you when your room is ready.” I hope this helps you and that you all have a Magical time!! 😀

  2. I booked a vehicle from Enterprise, and it was indeed the correct choice, unquestionably. So, what I obtained – outstanding service, fantastic vehicle, and the data regarding the location I wanted to discover! They are understanding plus try their best for every customer. I very, even strongly recommend this particular organization to anyone! Remarkable car and price are actually guaranteed!

  3. Truthfully, I have used service out of Enterprise rental car provider often. But, it was the very first time when I received truly superb car and ideal cost for it. I’ve never seen client care such wonderful like their. My motor vehicle did not have any problems. I own a wonderful app, for this reason my reservations are much simpler to make. I am going to continue my co-operation with them. Many thanks, guys.

  4. Like!! I blog quite often and I genuinely thank you for your information. The article has truly peaked my interest.
