Costco Disneyland Vacation Packages 2020

Last year I wrote a blog post called Costco Travel Disneyland Package Perks 2019. For our last trip to Disneyland in December 2018, we booked our trip through Costco Travel. After having the first-hand experience, I am going to share with you what the Costco Disneyland Vacation Packages perks are. This is for the current year 2020.

Basics of Costco Disneyland Vacation Packages 2020

First of all, there are two packages to choose from. A Disneyland Resort Hotels package or a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel package. Here are the basics of the Costco Disneyland vacation packages.

Disneyland Resort Hotels Package

• Hotel stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels
• Park Hopper Souvenir Ticket
• Early Magic Hour Entry
• Disney Gift Card (Amount varies according to stay.)
• Magical Extras Savings Card
• Tour Discount on Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps Guided Tour
• Collectible pin, button, and lanyard
• Splitsville Lanes bowling discount

Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels Package

• Hotel stay at one of the Good Neighbor Hotels

• Magic Morning Entry (with a 3-day or more park ticket)
• Disney Gift Card ($145 for 2 nights or more.)
• Magical Extras Savings Card
• Tour Discount on Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps Guided Tour

Disneyland is Fun and Expensive!

Disneyland is a fun place to take a vacation! It can also be very expensive. Especially in this day and age. If you are like my family and me, we only get to visit the resort once every two or more years. During that time we save up so that we can stay at the Disneyland Hotel and do special dining locations too.

As a result, saving money where we can is important. With the Costco Disneyland Vacation Packages, it helps you to save some money and get some perks at the same time!

How do I get my tickets and discount vouchers etc?

During our last Disneyland vacation, we got our tickets and vouchers when we checked into the Disneyland Hotel. They handed us a special sealed envelope that had everything in it. In order to get the lanyards and pins, we had to take a voucher to one of three locations around the Disneyland Resort to get the lanyard and pin.

It is really easy to do and just takes a little bit of time. The Downtown Disney location was not crowded, so it was pretty fast and then we were on our way. 

Disneyland Resort Hotels Package

First of all, the Disneyland Resort Hotels Package includes your hotel stay. (I would certainly hope so right?) It is for one of the three Disney Hotels. Either the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Spa, or Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.

Note: They require a minimum stay of two nights.

Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Souvenir Ticket

Next, the package includes a Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Souvenir Ticket. The souvenir ticket is a hard plastic ticket rather than a thick paper ticket. The hard plastic tickets hold up during your trip. Especially since you use it for so many things. Fast Passes, Max Passes, Photo Pass, entry to the park every day, and park hopping. Durable is definitely better.

Tip: If you decide to get a MaxPass on your tickets, (it’s an additional cost) you can download the Disneyland App to get and use your FastPasses straight from the App! I highly recommend getting a MaxPass for the entire family. (It is now $15 per person per day.) However, it definitely saves you time! Besides being able to get all your photos from attractions and photographers.

Early Magic Hour Entry

Early Magic Hour Entry is offered for both parks depending on the day of the week. Disneyland Park is on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. California Adventure Park is Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This Costco Travel vacation package perk includes both parks. Therefore, you will be able to use this perk every day should you choose to.

Hint: Early Magic Hour Entry for California Adventure Park is for Disneyland Resort Hotels Guests ONLY! This is a HUGE perk that is well worth taking advantage of! As a result of it being Disneyland Resort Hotels Guests only, California Aventure is not overcrowded during the Early Magic Hour.

Tip: On these early entry perks, Disney recommends that you are at the gate 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to normal park opening. HOWEVER, In my opinion, I recommend even earlier!! The last two trips I have taken I arrived at the 1 hour and 15 minute time and the lines were super long and it took so long to get into the park that we weren’t able to get onto any rides. The earlier you can get in line the better.

If you are at the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier Hotel (and if the Monorail is operating), you can get in for the Early Magic Hour Entry at the Monorail station. Just make sure you have enough time to get through the security checkpoint. In addition to having your room key available with your park ticket.

Disney Gift Card

A Disney Gift Card (one per package) with a value of up to $245 is another perk included with this Costco Package. The price varies, depending on how many nights you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel.

The Disney Gift Card can be used at premium character dining locations, participating shops or dining locations. Check beforehand to make sure the establishment will take it.

During our recent trip to Disneyland, I found out that the two crystal shops, (one on Main Street and one in New Orleans Square), does not accept the Disney gift card. Therefore, you will want to plan accordingly there.

I will say, that I love shopping in those shops! They can personalize the cups and shot glasses etc.

Character Dining Tips: The Premium Disney Character Dining Experience is a meal at a restaurant where Disney Characters come right to your table and interact with you. The Dining locations you can choose from are Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel (Breakfast or Dinner), Mickey and Friends at Disney’s PCH Grill at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, Minnie and Friends Breakfast at Plaza Inn inside of Disneyland, or Chip and Dale Critter Breakfast at Story Tellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance.

Magical Extras Savings Card

Another perk to the Costco Disneyland Vacation packages is a Magical Extras Savings card. It offers discounts at select stores and restaurants in the Downtown Disney District. (One card per room, per visit)

 Disneyland Resort Park Tour Discount

Next on the list of Costco Disneyland vacation packages, is a 15% discount for the Walk in Walts Footsteps Guided Tour at Disneyland.

Tip: Reservations are recommended and you can make them 30 days in advance.

Collectables

Another Costco Disneyland vacation packages perk is a couple of Disney Collectable items. (One per person ages 3 and up). It is a collectible Disney pin with lanyard and a button.  How awesome is that!

Splitsville Lanes Discount

Finally, on the list of Costco Travel Disneyland vacation package perks is a discount on bowling at Splitsville Lanes in Downtown Disney. For walk-in rates, you can get $5 off bowling per person.

Package Tip: If you are an Executive Member, you can now earn a 2 % reward on your Costco travel purchases annually. This includes the Costco Travel Disneyland Vacation Packages. 

Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels Package

Next, up for the Costco Disneyland Vacation Packages perks is the Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels Package. The hotels on the list are ones that Disney has approved of and the hotels are willing participants. This is a cheaper way to go if the Disneyland Resort Hotels are too steep for you. (I don’t blame you!)

Good Neighbor Hotels Package

First of all, the Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels Package includes your stay at a participating Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel.

Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Souvenir Ticket

Same as with the Disneyland Hotel package, the Good Neighbor Hotel package also comes with souvenir park tickets. They are a hard ticket that will hold up for the entirety of your trip.

Magic Morning Entry

Next, on the list of Costco Disneyland vacation packages for Good Neighbor Hotels, is when you stay long enough to have a 3 day or more park ticket, you can get magic morning entry. This means you can get into Disneyland one hour before park opening on ONE of the days it is offered.

Tip: In the same way as the Disneyland Resort Hotels Package, I recommend arriving at the gates earlier than the 1 hour and 15 minutes that Disneyland recommends.

Disney Gift Card

Another item on the list for Costco Disneyland vacation packages is a Disney Gift Card. When you stay two days or more, the Good Neighbor Hotels package includes a Disney Gift Card valued at $145. This gift card can be used at character dining locations, select shops, and select restaurants at the Disneyland Resort.
