Attraction ride speed at Disneyland is not something I always think about. But sometimes when I am at Disneyland (mostly while on the rides) that is when I think of it the most. I wonder how fast they go. Have you ever wondered about that? I am guessing maybe you have since you are here reading this. Let’s see how fast some of these rides actually go!
Attractions Ride Speed at Disneyland Resort
First of all, I tried researching to find all of the attractions ride speed at the Disneyland Resort. I thought for sure I had found a list once that had all of the attractions. Regrettably, I can’t seem to find it now. However, I found quite a few attractions ride speeds to get you started!
Splash Mountain
First, in Disneyland’s Critter Country is a log ride called Splash Mountain. This attraction is based on the movie Song of the South and The Tales of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, and Brer Bear. Splash Mountain tops out at 40 miles per hour.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Next is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland (Disneyland). Hold on to those hats and glasses! Because this mine train rollercoaster goes 35 miles per hour! If you ride Big Thunder after dark, the ride speed feels like it is faster. Make sure to check that out. You won’t be disappointed! Unless you get sick or prefer slower rides… Then you would be disappointed.
Gadget’s Go Coaster
Gadget’s Go Coaster is the third attraction on the ride speed list. This rollercoaster is geared for kids, however, it is still thrilling! Based on the cartoon series Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Gadget’s Go Coaster reaches 21.7 miles per hour.
Matterhorn Bobsleds
Over in Fantasyland (Disneyland), is our next ride speed attraction. Matterhorn Bobsleds is another fun rollercoaster ride to check out. Just watch out for the abominable snowman! However, don’t worry about escaping. At 27 miles per hour, you should make it down the mountain in time.
Space Mountain
Are you seeing a mountain theme like I am? This next mountain is in Tomorrowland (Disneyland). Space Mountain is a rollercoaster ride in the Dark! Reaching a max speed of 35 miles per hour! Hold on tight with this one.
Monorail
Another attraction in Tomorrowland is the Monorail. As a matter of fact, this attraction is a ride as well as a mode of transportation. Enjoy the high up view of the parks, park entrance, and Downtown Disney as you fly at a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour.
Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout
Next, we head to California Adventure Park. Inside of Hollywoodland is a new themed attraction called Guardian’s of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout. Based on the movie Guardians of the Galaxy, you are trying to help the Guardian’s escape from the collector’s fortress. In doing so, you drop at a rate of 39 miles per hour. It is a weightless experience.
Incredicoaster
Our final attraction in California Adventure is Incredicoaster. Previously this attraction was California Screamin. Incredicoaster will be based on the animated movie Incredibles. Another rollercoaster at the Disneyland Resort, however, this one is the fastest!
This attraction, Incredicoaster, goes 55 miles per hour! Wow that is fast!
Finally
For this last one, it is multiple attractions at the Disneyland Resort. These attractions all share the same ride speed. In fact, these attractions may be slow, however, they are fast-moving in the line department. In addition to having a high capacity. The ride speed for these attractions is 2 feet per second. Which translates to 1.36364 miles per hour!

- Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters-Disneyland
- The Little Mermaid-Ariel’s Undersea Adventure-California Adventure

Attractions at Disneyland have all different ride speeds. As a result, you don’t always know how fast or slow you are going.
