Disneyland offers so many choices when it comes to souvenirs. Hats, cups, shirts, balloons, coats, and keychains. The list goes on and on. The first available Disney merchandise was a school tablet from 1930. By 1935 there were hundreds of items available. Today… There are thousands of items available. They are also available practically anywhere you go now too!
What do you think would be the Top 10 Souvenirs at Disneyland? Today I would like to talk about which ones I think are the top 10. It is hard to pick only 10 because of how many different souvenirs are offered today.
Top 10 Souvenirs at Disneyland
Mouse Ears
Mouse ears were first available by 1935. In 1955 the Mickey Mouse Club TV show was on and the cast wore mouse ears. Millions of viewers wore them as well. As did guests that visited the park. Mouse ears were popular back then and are still popular to this day. It is the number one souvenir of guests.
Plush
Back in my day, they were called stuffed animals. But no matter what you call them, they are still popular today. So many different characters are available all over the park. You can take home small versions of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and so many more!
Shirts
Disneyland has t-shirts, sweatshirts and tank tops. They have different styles of these shirts with lots of different characters, colors, sayings, and designs. It can be very difficult to choose which one will come home with you. (or two or three…) 😉 )
Keychains
This Disneyland souvenir is one of the more affordable options. Keychains have a lot of different characters, styles, and sayings. I started collecting these as a kid and I continue to get one or two each trip. Keychains make a nice collection. Most of all, due to their size, they are small enough to pack up and bring them home with you.
Trading Pins
In addition to keychains, trading pins are small enough to pack and bring them home. Trading pins have become extremely popular in the last ten + years. People are really into trading the pins with others they meet. I haven’t been big into trading them myself. I like to keep what I purchase. These Disneyland souvenirs come in endless designs. They will have attractions, Disney Characters, and Disney characters riding the rides.
Souvenir Drink Cups
These drink cups are ones you purchase with a specialty drink at certain locations around the park. During the holiday season, they offer a souvenir cup with hot chocolate. The picture and design are different each year which makes it a nice collector’s item.
Popcorn Buckets
Another Disneyland Souvenir that the design changes are the popcorn buckets. They even have different shapes! Disneyland has so many different ones around the park. Popcorn buckets are another great collection souvenir, but they are bulky for travel. Although, it hasn’t stopped me from getting one per trip though. (Benefits of driving vs. flying). Some of the designs they have offered are R2D2, Cinderella’s coach, and a Mickey balloon shape.
Balloons
Disneyland has sold balloons in the park for over 60 years. Even though the balloons have changed through the years, they still have the traditional Mickey shape in a variety of colors. They also have balloons for whatever movie is popular at the time. Don’t forget to check out the balloons at night. They have ones that light up!
Coffee cups
Coffee cups are a souvenir that has lasted through the years. Who doesn’t drink coffee or tea right?
There are so many cute designs to choose from. Between the different characters and the ride/attraction ones, it can be a hard decision to make!
Tip: Disney wraps the coffee mugs really well at most locations. (I ask before I purchase to be sure) It is not just tissue paper. I am not saying they will be break-proof, but it does help.
Light up Souvenirs
When the sun goes down, the light-up treats come out! In addition to the balloons, Disneyland has all sorts of goodies that light up. Necklaces, bubble blowers, a single rose, and even mouse ears!
In Conclusion
As you can see, Disneyland has so many different choices for souvenirs. This is just a small list of endless options around the park.
